Eno River State Park

We spent a wonderful Sunday afternoon exploring Eno River State Park in nearby Durham, North Carolina. Our wildlife count was high as was the fun we had.

Our first of five turtles enjoying the sun.

Eno River

Most of the path had a nice canopy so it was cool.

Wildlife from another era

A fallen tree makes a nice horsey that bounces.

So happy to capture a reflection in this shot.

This one too.

Both the flora and fauna make use of every bit of the forest.

Both ferns and moss let you know that moisture abounds.

Took a break after crossing a bridge to check out Pea Creek.

Spinosaurus is back.

Short video clip of the falling water.
It is one of my favorite sounds.

We found a water snake and I was able to capture a bit of him. He was a speedy lad.

Walk softly and keep your eyes focused for movement and you can see things you might otherwise never notice.

This dude was also enjoying some rays.

A bit blurry because this centipede was on the move.

Time to take off the shoes and enjoy the Eno.

The smallest dude we photographed. A crayfish was found but escaped before a photo was snapped.

This fellow was well camoflaged on his wood and leaf pile by Pea Creek.

The verdict is in and we will definitely return to explore and enjoy more of Eno River State Park.
